The Impressions

The Impressions are an American soul and rhythm & blues group that emerged from Chicago in 1958. Operating across multiple soul and pop genres including doo-wop and smooth soul, the ensemble became central figures in the Chicago soul movement. Their work spanned rock, indie influences, and classic soul traditions. The group's catalog and legacy were significantly impacted when they became victims of the 2008 Universal fire, an event that affected many artists' recorded materials and archives.
