Icicle Works are an English alternative rock band that emerged in 1980. The group took their name from a 1960 science fiction short story by Frederik Pohl. They achieved significant chart success in the UK with their 1983 single "Love Is a Wonderful Colour," which reached the Top 20. Across North America, the band secured a Top 40 hit with "Birds Fly" in 1984, establishing themselves as notable figures in the classic pop and rock landscape of the 1980s.
