The Hollywood Argyles

The Hollywood Argyles were an American musical group formed in 1960 by producer and songwriter Kim Fowley and musician Gary S. Paxton as a studio project. The ensemble achieved immediate commercial success with their debut single "Alley Oop," which reached number one on the US charts. Created specifically for recording purposes rather than as a touring band, the group represented a collaboration between two influential figures in 1960s popular music production.
