Hide with Spread Beaver was a Japanese rock group featuring Hideto Matsumoto, professionally known as Hide. Matsumoto gained international recognition as lead guitarist of X Japan between 1987 and 1997, and simultaneously built a successful solo career across Asia from 1993 to 1998. Beyond his work with these projects, he co-founded Zilch, a rock supergroup based in the United States, in 1996. His multifaceted contributions as a musician, vocalist, songwriter, and producer established him as a significant figure in rock music during the 1990s.
