Herman Van Veen is a Dutch performer born in 1945 who works across multiple artistic disciplines including music, theater, literature, and visual art. Primarily known for his contributions to kleinkunst—an intimate form of Dutch cabaret performance—he has established himself as a singer-songwriter working within the chanson and liedermacher traditions. Throughout his career, Van Veen has collaborated with accomplished pianists and composers, including Laurens van Rooyen and Erik van der Wurff. Beyond his stage work, he has also pursued narration and acting, including work on German audiobooks and audio dramas, demonstrating his versatility as a cultural figure in Northern Europe.
