Heavy D. & the Boyz
Heavy D & the Boyz was an American hip-hop group formed in 1986, led by Jamaican-American rapper and producer Dwight Arrington Myers. The ensemble featured dancers and hype men G-Whiz and "Trouble" T. Roy, alongside DJ and producer Eddie F. Throughout the 1990s, the group built a substantial following in the United States, releasing five studio albums featuring production from prominent figures including Teddy Riley, Marley Marl, DJ Premier, and Pete Rock. Beyond his work with the group, Myers pursued a solo career with four albums and played a significant role in discovering artists Soul for Real and Monifah.
