Hall & Oates was an American musical duo formed in Philadelphia in 1970, comprising Daryl Hall on lead vocals and John Oates on electric guitar and backing vocals. The pair wrote the majority of their material, working both individually and together. Blending rock, soul, and rhythm and blues elements, they rose to prominence during the mid-1970s through the late 1980s, becoming one of the era's most successful acts. The group disbanded in April 2024 after more than five decades of activity.
