"Don't Get Me Wrong" is a song by the British rock band the Pretenders, serving as the opening single from their fourth studio album, Get Close, released in 1986. The track was subsequently included on the band's compilation album, The Singles, which came out in 1987. The frontwoman Chrissie Hynde revealed that she drew creative inspiration for writing this song from her friend John McEnroe.
