Green Jellÿ is an American comedy rock band that emerged in 1981, blending punk rock energy with humorous theatrical elements. The Los Angeles-based group initially operated under the name Green Jellö before facing trademark challenges from Kraft Foods Inc., owners of the Jell-O brand. This legal dispute prompted the band to modify their name to Green Jellÿ, allowing them to continue performing. Known for their irreverent approach to rock music and comedic sensibility, the band carved out a distinctive niche within the alternative music landscape.
