Gene Vincent & the Blue Caps were an American rock and roll group active from 1957 to 1958. Led by Eugene Craddock, known professionally as Gene Vincent, the ensemble helped establish rockabilly as a distinct musical style in the mid-1950s. Their 1956 recording "Be-Bop-a-Lula" became a defining early rockabilly track and achieved top ten chart success. While Vincent's commercial peak in the United States proved brief, with three top 40 hits in 1956–1957, he enjoyed greater sustained popularity in the UK, where he charted eight top 40 hits between 1956 and 1961.
