Freddie Morgan was an American jazz trumpeter whose career spanned seven decades, beginning in 1938. Active across multiple jazz idioms including bebop, hard bop, cool jazz, and fusion, Morgan became known for his work in trumpet jazz and jazz-funk. His versatility allowed him to navigate both upbeat ensemble pieces and intimate ballad performances, establishing him as a respected figure in post-bop and soul jazz circles.
