Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers were an American doo-wop group that became one of rock music's earliest major successes. Active from 1954 to 1968, the ensemble gained prominence as rock's first all-teenage act, with 13-year-old Frankie Lymon serving as lead vocalist on their most successful recordings. The group achieved widespread recognition through exposure by pioneering DJ Alan Freed and helped establish doo-wop as a significant force in early rock and roll. Their influential contributions to the genre were recognized in 1993 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
