The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips are an American psychedelic rock band originating from Oklahoma City in 1983. Fronted by founding member Wayne Coyne, the group has become known for their experimental approach to rock and pop music, incorporating elements of noise, space rock, and neo-psychedelia. Steven Drozd served as a key creative force and multi-instrumentalist from 1991 until 2024, contributing significantly to the band's songwriting during that period. The current lineup includes Coyne alongside Derek Brown, Matt Duckworth Kirksey, AJ Slaughter, and Tommy McKenzie on bass. Following Michael Ivins's departure in 2021, Coyne remains the sole original member in the group.
