The Five Americans

The Five Americans was an American rock band active during the 1960s, operating between 1964 and 1969. The group achieved their greatest commercial success with the single "Western Union," which climbed to number five on the U.S. Billboard chart and remains their sole Top 20 entry on that chart. However, their popularity extended to Canada, where they secured three additional Top 20 hits. Blending elements of rock, pop, and garage rock with sunshine pop and bubblegum influences, the Five Americans represented the diverse sound of mid-1960s American popular music.
