Falco was an Austrian rock and pop musician born on February 19, 1957, who became a prominent figure in 1980s new wave and synthpop. Rising to prominence during the Austrian pop scene's peak, he blended elements of new wave, dance-pop, and rap into his distinctive sound. His work encompassed synthpop, pop rock, and disco-influenced tracks that resonated across Europe. Active throughout the 1980s and beyond, Falco contributed significantly to the austropop and neue deutsche welle movements. He died on February 6, 1998, in a car crash.
