Edd Byrnes

Edd Byrnes was an American actor and singer born Edward Breitenberger. He achieved prominence in the late 1950s through his role as Kookie on the television series 77 Sunset Strip, which ran from 1958 to 1964. That same year, he recorded a Billboard charting pop single with Connie Stevens titled "Kookie, Kookie." Beyond television, Byrnes appeared in the 1978 film adaptation of Grease, portraying television dance show host Vince Fontaine. He remained active in entertainment throughout his career until his death in 2020.
