Anka's own recording achieved significant chart success, reaching the second position on the Billboard Hot 100, fourth place on the Canadian CHUM Charts, and thirty-third position on the UK Singles Chart, though it was surpassed on the Billboard chart by Percy Faith's "Theme from A Summer Place".
