The Easybeats were an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in late 1964. Emerging during the height of the 1960s rock scene, they distinguished themselves as pioneers of Australian rock music, being among the few local acts of their era to build their reputation primarily on original compositions. Their 1966 single "Friday on My Mind" became a landmark achievement, establishing itself as the first Australian rock song to gain substantial international recognition. The band remained active until 1969, leaving a significant imprint on the country's music landscape through their work in rock, pop, and psychedelic styles.
