This was the sole studio album released by the English punk rock band the Sex Pistols, issued through Virgin Records in late 1977. The recording process was marked by instability within the band, including the departure of original bassist Glen Matlock early on. Despite leaving during production, Matlock received co-writing credit on most tracks but only performed bass on a single song.
