Drive-By Truckers is an American rock band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 1996. The ensemble draws members from diverse musical backgrounds, including musicians with origins in northern Alabama's Shoals region and Richmond, Virginia. Two of the band's five current members initially connected as roommates during their time at the University of North Alabama. Blending southern rock with alternative country and indie influences, Drive-By Truckers has built a reputation for their distinctive approach to rock music that reflects their varied regional roots.
