Candy Man cover

"The Candy Man" originated as a composition for the 1971 film adaptation of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, created by songwriters Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. The character Aubrey Woods, who portrayed a candy store owner in the movie, performed the version featured on the film's soundtrack. Notably, while the original Roald Dahl novel from 1964 inspired lyrics for other film songs, this particular song's lyrics were not derived from the source material. Newley also recorded his own version for his 1971 album Pure Imagination.
