Dr. Hook

Dr. Hook was an American rock band that emerged from Union City, New Jersey in 1968. The group achieved considerable commercial success throughout the 1970s and early 1980s with a series of chart-topping singles including "Sylvia's Mother," "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone,'" and "Sexy Eyes." Beyond performing their own compositions, Dr. Hook notably recorded material penned by poet Shel Silverstein, a collaboration that contributed to their distinctive sound blending rock, pop, and country influences. The band remained active until 1985, leaving behind a catalog of soft rock hits that defined much of their era.
