Desmond Dekker & the Aces

Desmond Dekker & The Aces were a Jamaican musical group that emerged in 1965, working within the ska and rocksteady traditions. Led by vocalist Desmond Dekker, the ensemble achieved significant international recognition with their 1968 track "Israelites," establishing themselves as pioneers of reggae's global reach. The group produced several other commercially successful recordings throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "007," "It Mek," and "You Can Get It If You Really Want," cementing their influence on the genre's development and popularity beyond Jamaica.
