The Delmore Brothers
The Delmore Brothers were pioneering country music singer-songwriters and performers from the United States who shaped the genre's early development. Alton and Rabon Delmore rose to prominence as stars of the Grand Ole Opry during the 1930s, performing alongside fiddler Arthur Smith as the Arthur Smith Trio. As one of several influential brother duos of their era—alongside acts such as the Louvin Brothers, Blue Sky Boys, and Stanley Brothers—they left a lasting impact on both country music and broader American popular music through their innovative approach to performance and composition. The group remained active from 1926 to 1952.
