Death in June

Death in June is a neofolk ensemble founded in England in 1981, initially operating as a trio before evolving into a vehicle for Douglas P.'s artistic vision. Following the departure of original members in the mid-1980s, the project became centered around Douglas P. and a rotating cast of collaborators. Over four decades, the group's sound has progressively shifted from post-punk and industrial foundations toward acoustic and folk-based arrangements. Douglas P. played a foundational role in establishing neofolk as a distinct musical genre, and Death in June remains central to its development and identity.
