DC Talk was an American Christian rap and rock trio formed at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1987. The group consisted of Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max Smith. Over their fourteen-year career, they released five studio albums, beginning with their self-titled debut in 1989 and concluding with Supernatural in 1998. Their discography included the commercially successful Jesus Freak album of 1995. The band was recognized by the Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music in 2002 as the most popular overtly Christian musical act of all time. DC Talk disbanded in 2001.
