The Dayton Family

The Dayton Family is an American hip hop group from Flint, Michigan, formed in 1993. The trio consists of Ira Dorsey, Raheen Peterson, and Matt Hinkle. The group's name references Dayton Street, a notably dangerous thoroughfare in their hometown. Emerging from Flint's hip hop scene, the Dayton Family became known for their gritty, street-oriented sound that reflected their community's social conditions. Their work contributed to the region's distinctive rap culture during the 1990s and beyond.
