The Dave Clark Five were an English rock and roll band formed in 1958 in Tottenham, London. Led by drummer Dave Clark, who also served as the group's producer and co-songwriter, the band became prominent figures in the British beat music scene. Their debut UK top-ten hit, "Glad All Over," arrived in January 1964 and notably displaced the Beatles from the top of the UK Singles Chart. While they achieved only one UK number-one single, the group found greater chart success in the United States, topping the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1965 with their rendition of "Over and Over." The DC5 remained active until 1970, leaving behind a catalog of memorable pop and rock recordings that defined the era.
