Darren Hayes is an Australian singer, songwriter, music producer, and composer born in 1972. He gained international prominence as the frontman of pop duo Savage Garden, which he formed in 1993. The group's 1997 debut album achieved major commercial success, reaching number one in Australia, number two in the United Kingdom, and number three in the United States, driven by hit singles including the chart-topping "Truly Madly Deeply." Their second album, Affirmation (1999), continued their success with additional number-one hits. Savage Garden disbanded in 2001, after which Hayes pursued a solo career. His work spans multiple genres including electropop, dance-pop, and blue-eyed soul.
