D-Nice, born Derrick T. Jones, is an American DJ, record producer, and rapper who emerged in the mid-1980s as a founding member of the hip hop collective Boogie Down Productions. A pivotal figure in the group's early success, D-Nice played a crucial role in discovering and promoting KRS-One, facilitating the artist's signing to Jive Records in 1988. His work as a producer and DJ helped shape the group's influential sound during a formative period in hip hop history.
