A power ballad composed by Axl Rose, the band's frontman, released in February 1992 through Geffen Records as the third single from their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I. The nearly nine-minute track achieved significant commercial success, reaching number one on the US Cash Box Top 100 and number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest song to enter the top ten at that time. It also charted highly internationally, including number two in Portugal and number four in the UK.
