Milk and Honey represents the final collaborative work between John Lennon and Yoko Ono, arriving in January 1984 as a posthumous release created three years following Lennon's death. The album stands as Lennon's eleventh and last studio work overall, and marks the inaugural release of previously unheard Lennon material. The recordings originated during the later stages of his life, captured while working on and after completing sessions for the 1980 album Double Fantasy. Yoko Ono oversaw the assembly of the project in partnership with Geffen Records.
