Chris de Burgh is an English singer-songwriter and musician born in Argentina. Beginning his career in art rock, he gradually shifted toward pop-oriented songwriting. De Burgh achieved commercial success with multiple top 40 hits in the UK and several chart entries in the US, though he maintains a particularly strong following in Norway and Brazil. His 1975 track "A Spaceman Came Travelling" established itself as a seasonal favorite, while his 1986 composition "The Lady in Red" became an international number one. With over 45 million albums sold globally, de Burgh remains a significant figure in soft rock and classic pop.
