This 1967 rocksteady composition was originally created and recorded by Jamaican artist John Holt alongside the Paragons for their album On the Beach. The track was manufactured under Duke Reid's direction for his Treasure Isle record label. The song achieved significant worldwide recognition in 1980 when Blondie released a cover version that reached the top of both American and British charts. The composition has subsequently been re-recorded by other artists, including a 2002 UK number-one rendition by Atomic Kitten and a 2008 minor chart entry by Kardinal Offishall.
