10cc are an English rock band established in 1972 by Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, and Lol Creme. The four musicians had collaborated as writers and recording artists at Strawberry Studios in Stockport since 1968. All members were accomplished multi-instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters, and producers who contributed to the band's compositions through various collaborative arrangements. Godley and Creme's songwriting drew inspiration from artistic and cinematic sources. The group recorded most of their material at their own facilities—Strawberry Studios locations in Stockport and Dorking—with Stewart overseeing engineering duties. 10cc's work blends rock, pop, and progressive elements, establishing them as significant figures in 1970s and 1980s popular music.
