The Charlie Daniels Band was an American rock and country group active from 1972 to 2020. Led by singer and songwriter Charles Edward Daniels, the band blended rock, country, blues, and jazz influences to become a significant force in Southern rock and progressive country music. They achieved their greatest commercial success with the number-one country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The ensemble charted eight singles on the Billboard Hot 100, establishing themselves as influential figures in country-rock fusion during their nearly five-decade career.
