Carly Simon is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and author born in 1943. She achieved major commercial success during the 1970s, establishing herself as a prominent figure in popular music. Her discography includes thirteen top 40 hits on the U.S. charts, among them chart-toppers and notable successes such as "You're So Vain," "You Belong to Me," and "Nobody Does It Better," which was featured in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. Several of her singles achieved Gold certification status. Beyond her musical career, Simon has expanded into writing, publishing two memoirs and five children's books.
