Cannibal & the Headhunters were an American rock band from East Los Angeles, California, who emerged as pioneers in the mid-1960s. Rising to prominence with their hit single "Land of a Thousand Dances" on the Rampart label, they became one of the first Mexican-American groups to achieve national chart success. The band gained further recognition as the opening act for The Beatles' second American tour in 1965, performing at the landmark Shea Stadium concerts. Their energetic garage rock sound helped define the frat rock and rock and roll scene of their era.
