Camarón de la Isla
Camaron de la Isla was a Spanish flamenco vocalist and pioneering figure in nuevo flamenco. Born in 1950, he became one of the most influential cante jondo singers of his generation, known for bringing innovative energy to traditional flamenco forms. His career spanned four decades, during which he helped modernize the genre while maintaining its emotional depth and authenticity. De la Isla's distinctive voice and interpretive approach left a lasting impact on flamenco music, establishing him as a cornerstone artist in the nuevo flamenco movement. He passed away in 1992.
