A Fire Inside is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, active since 1991. Originally rooted in hardcore punk, the group has evolved across multiple genres including horror punk, post-hardcore, emo, and alternative rock. Since 1998, the band has maintained a stable lineup featuring lead vocalist Davey Havok and drummer Adam Carson—the two remaining founding members—alongside bassist Hunter Burgan and guitarist Jade Puget. This consistent membership has allowed AFI to develop a distinctive sonic identity that blends punk intensity with darker, more experimental rock sensibilities.
