The Bootleg Family Band

Bootleg Family Band were an Australian folk, rock and R&B ensemble established in 1973 by vocalist Brian Cadd alongside eight other musicians including drummer Geoff Cox, guitarist Tony Naylor, and vocalists Penny Dyer and Angela Jones. Operating as the in-house band for Cadd's independent label Bootleg Records, they achieved significant chart success with renditions of "Your Mama Don't Dance" and "The Shoop Shoop Song," both reaching the Australian top 10. The group expanded their profile internationally in 1974 through performances on American television programs including The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. The band underwent lineup changes and successive rebranding from 1975 onward, eventually dissolving in the late 1970s. Cadd reunited the original ensemble in 2015 to produce the studio album Bulletproof.
