Bonnie “Prince” Billy

Bonnie Prince Billy is an American singer-songwriter and actor known for his work in folk rock and Americana. Born Joseph Will Oldham, he emerged in the early 1990s, initially recording under the Palace moniker while collaborating with numerous musicians. Between 1993 and 1997, these varied projects established his artistic presence. After a brief period of solo releases under his own name, he adopted the stage name Bonnie Prince Billy in 1998, which has remained his primary recording identity. His distinctive approach to country and alt-country has made him a notable figure in contemporary American folk music.
