Bonnie Pointer was an American soul and disco singer known for her work as a founding member of the Pointer Sisters. Born in 1950, she established herself within the group before pursuing a solo career beginning in 1977. Her most notable solo achievement came in 1979 with a disco rendition of "Heaven Must Have Sent You," which reached number 11 on the charts. Pointer's mezzo-soprano voice and versatility across soul, gospel, and R&B genres contributed significantly to her family's musical legacy. She remained active in music until her death in 2020.
