BoDeans is an American rock band that emerged from Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1983. The group's musical identity blends roots rock, heartland rock, and alternative rock influences. Their most significant commercial success came with "Closer to Free" in 1993, which served as the theme song for the television series Party of Five. Widely regarded as one of the most prominent and recognizable acts to emerge from the Milwaukee region, BoDeans has achieved lasting recognition, including placement in a permanent Midwest artists exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
