Bobby Taylor & the Vancouvers were a Canadian soul band from Vancouver, British Columbia, active from 1963 to 1969. The group achieved commercial success after signing with Motown Records' Gordy label in 1968, earning a top 30 hit with "Does Your Mama Know About Me." Beyond his work with the band, Bobby Taylor established himself as a producer and solo artist, contributing to numerous soul recordings across multiple labels. He gained lasting recognition for his role in discovering and developing the Jackson 5. The group's membership notably included Tommy Chong, who later became a celebrated comedian.
