X&Y is Coldplay's third studio album, released in June 2005 through Parlophone in the UK and Capitol in the US. The band collaborated with producer Danton Supple during its creation, a challenging period marked by their manager's temporary absence. Initial producer Ken Nelson's work was largely rejected by the band, and numerous compositions from those sessions were ultimately excluded from the final album. The cover design employs visual blocks and colors to encode the album title using Baudot code.
