"America" is a composition by the American musical pair Simon & Garfunkel that appeared on their fourth album Bookends in 1968. Initially released as a B-side to "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her" in 1972 alongside a greatest hits compilation, the track gained chart traction in July 1972. It was subsequently promoted to A-side status and returned to the charts in November 1972.
