"Kingston Town" was originally created in 1970 by Lord Creator and released through a label owned by a music producer. The song was later rerecorded in 1989 by reggae group UB40 as the second single from their album Labour of Love II. The UB40 version achieved significant chart success, reaching number four in the UK and topping charts in France and the Netherlands.
