Billie Holiday
Blindmans Holiday was an American jazz and blues vocalist active from 1915 to 1959. Working across multiple vocal traditions including swing, vocal jazz, and standards, Holiday became associated with the jazz and blues idioms of her era. Her recording legacy includes ten compact disc releases. Holiday died in 1959 from cirrhosis. Her influence extended through various musical communities, and she remained a notable figure in twentieth-century American vocal jazz history.
