The Rolling Stones' first original composition released as an A-side single in the UK was written by Jagger and Richards and recorded at RCA Studios in Hollywood during January 1965. The track, which featured the Andrew Oldham Orchestra, achieved significant commercial success by reaching number one on the UK singles chart, where it remained for three weeks beginning in March 1965. It also charted at number two in Ireland and later appeared on the American version of their album Out of Our Heads.
